Mark Hutker Lecture Recap

If you missed out on the Mark Hutker Lecture on February 18th, you missed a good one! More than 75 members of the Eastern Section community including AIANC Eastern Section members, East Carolina University students from Construction Management, Architectural Design, and Interior Design as well as members of the local community came out to hear a presentation from Mark Hutker.

AIA NC TEAM Workshop Report

Your Executive Board has been active early in this New Year. Linda Boylan, Eastern Section President Elect, has collaborated with Jamie McKay of AIANC Triangle to help organize a leadership outreach program targeted to the development of young architects. It is funded through an AIA Emerging Professionals Grant and the AIANC Foundation, and is entitled "TEAM," which stands for Training Emerging Architects through Mentorship.

The AIANC Eastern Section would like to thank all of your for making our annual Scholarship Golf Tournament such a great success. The golf tournament will be held again this year in April, with specific dates and information to be announced soon.

On the National level this is an easy question to answer. The AIA is strong in its leadership and guidance for professional architects. They are advocates for building healthy communities, presenting green building technologies, promoting good public policy, and providing journals and educational opportunities to keep our profession vibrant and current.
