How can the American Institute of Architects benefit you?
On the National level this is an easy question to answer. The AIA is strong in its leadership and guidance for professional architects. They are advocates for building healthy communities, presenting green building technologies, promoting good public policy, and providing journals and educational opportunities to keep our profession vibrant and current.
At the State level, AIA NC has taken the bold step of undertaking their own architectural and building project and has created a stunning headquarters in Raleigh. The new Center for Architecture and Design is not only a dramatic building and a place for architects from all over the state to gather, it is also a wonderful example of being pro-active in the face of crisis.
But our lives are not lived on the National, or even State level. Our daily lives are local and this year I am hoping to hear from you. How can the Eastern Section of the AIA benefit you?
Last year, we organized a number of wonderful programs that were very sparsely attended. We put a lot of effort into these events and our viability as a local section diminishes without your participation. Each of the board members will be contacting a section member to talk with you directly about how we can better serve you. We need your active participation to be an effective and meaningful group.
